Lesson 5. Particles and Parameter Behaviors

Lesson Files APTS_Motion > Lessons > Lesson05
Time This lesson takes approximately 90 minutes to complete.
Goals Navigate through the Timeline via markers
Learn the basic structure of particle systems
Customize the basic properties of particles
Learn about the life cycle of particles
Use the still-proxy method for particle design
  Work with parameter behaviors
Understand the use of random-seed values
Apply an attractor behavior using a null image

Particles are often considered a peripheral part of motion graphics—more a plug-in than a central feature. However, as you become familiar with particles in Motion, you'll find yourself using them in almost every project you create. In this lesson we'll take a look at creating particles from footage, still images, and presets. We'll also explore the relationship between particles and emitters, along with the various particle parameters ripe for the tweaking.
