Creating NURBS Curves

Learning curve creation and editing can help any Maya user to take full advantage of the Maya modeling tools. NURBS curves allow excellent control over their shape and placement by providing multiple points to use for editing.

Curves are often used to create a wire representation of a surface, and then a skin can be added over the curves to make the final surface (Figure 7.6). You can create this final surface using a number of Maya commands, such as lofting, extruding, and revolving. We will be looking at each of these methods throughout this chapter.
