About NURBS Objects

NURBS object creation is one of Maya's strengths because of the precise control the user has over the final surface. There are two types of NURBS objects: curves and surfaces.

NURBS curves have three main components: CVs (control vertices), edit points, and hulls (Figure 7.2). These components are used to create and edit curves in different ways. As you create NURBS curves, you will probably come to prefer a certain component and use that editing method more than others.
