About Cameras

One essential part of rendering is your point of view of your scene. Any time you view your scene in Maya, you are looking through a camera. The four views—Top, Front, Side, and Perspective—are actually four different cameras. Most often you render using the Perspective view, but you can use the others as well.

Cameras determine both your view of the scene and the view that gets rendered out. When you are tumbling and tracking in the Perspective view you are essentially just moving and rotating that camera. The four default cameras—Top, Front, Side, and Perspective—cannot be deleted, but you can create new cameras (Figure 14.3).
