Systems of Reference

Systems of reference track the position, orientation, and scale of objects as they are transformed. In Chapter 3, you reviewed two systems of reference: local coordinate systems, which use moveable axes to define object space (Figure 5.4), and the world coordinate system, which uses a fixed axis to define world space (Figure 5.5).
