Chapter 5. Transforms

Chapter 5. Transforms

Transforms are the most basic commands for animating objects. With transforms, you make objects bounce, squash, spin, and fly. At the sub-object level, you use transforms to edit models. This chapter covers basic transforms as well as advanced transforms that create arrays of cloned objects.

Transforms are a set of mathematical functions called affine transformations that change the coordinates of geometry objects. With affine transformations, parallel sides of the objects they act on must remain parallel.
