Chapter 6. Modifying Objects

Modifiers change the structure and appearance of objects. With the dozens of modifiers that ship with 3ds max 4, you can bend, twist, taper, ripple, wave, lathe, and extrude objects (Figure 6.1). Objects can be squeezed, sliced, stretched, or smoothed. You can even turn them inside out.
