Chapter 7. Animation > Linking Objects

Linking Objects

To increase the possibilities of transform animation, you can create a one-way link between objects so that one object passes its transforms onto the other. The child object that inherits the transforms will then move, rotate, or scale in the same way as the parent.

By linking a series of objects together, you can create a branching tree structure called a linked hierarchy. This allows you to create sophisticated animation sequences involving multiple objects and complex motions.
