Chapter 9. Edit Objects > Combining objects

Combining objects

If you've worked with the Pathfinder commands inAdobe Illustrator, the Combine commands in LiveMotion will seem instantly familiar. Like the Pathfinders, they create a new object from two or more selected and overlapping objects. They combine or remove areas that do overlap or areas that don't overlap. Thus from simple objects you can produce more complex object contours, shapes, or cutouts.

You can combine any type of object: geometric, text, or image. The final object may be a different type than the original objects (e.g., a geometric object will turn into either a path or an image object). It depends on what type of object you start with and which command you use.
