3. Design Your Pages

This is where the fun begins. After opening a page by double-clicking its thumbnail in Plan view, you’ll see the Muse Design view (Figure 2.4). There are panels on the right, the Control panel above the Document window, and other familiar workspace elements and tools.

You can approach design in Muse like you approach page layout in InDesign. You can place Web-supported images like .gif, .jpeg, or .png or Photoshop files, as well as copy and paste into your designs from programs like Photoshop and Fireworks.

You can add text, format that text using familiar formatting options, even create character and paragraph styles to control the text formatting throughout your site.

When designing your site in Muse, there’s also lots of cool functionality you can drag and drop onto your pages, such as navigation bars, slideshows, lightboxes, linking, and much more that you will see later.
